Holyoke, Colorado - Rupert and Jim O'Neal, brothers and Holyoke natives, formulated the destination golf course idea years ago after watching the British Open golf tournament on television. They were convinced that the uneven sand dunes outside Holyoke could be manicured to re-create the wild and wind-contoured courses found in the British Isles.
ABD was hired to design and build a Golf Shop, Clubhouse and Lodge with a rural Irish theme and minimalist golf motif.
The Clubhouse includes a high-end restaurant with commercial kitchen and well-respected Frank Bonnano of Denver as head chef. It also features a lounge and bar area with fireplace, formal dining area and game room.
The Golf Shop, designed to resemble an Irish farmhouse, features a retail golf shop, offices, locker rooms, repair shop and caddy shack.
The Lodge houses nine guest rooms, eight with private baths, terraces and two community living rooms.
Being located just two miles from where ABD co-owner, Bob Peterson, grew up, this project intrigued ABD from the beginning. We were honored to be a part of the exciting process of bringing such an exclusive, member-only club to Northeast Colorado!
