2008 CARE Award Winner - 2nd Place for Historic Renovation
The client had purchased a home from 1894 before coming to our design/build team to help modernize the historic house.
One of the client's goals was to create a living space in the 6' 6" high cellar style basement. This was a challenge to accomplish without undermining the 100+ year old stone foundation.
Upstairs on the main level the home was nearly unihabitable. The home was gutted down to the studs, such as they were, and new planned living space was created.
Finishes for the home were very high end with all complimenting the "Green" features incorporated into the homes skeleton. All appliances, insulation, roofing, HVAC system, etc. meet or exceed E-Star requirements creating a 100+ year old highly efficient home and a very happy client.
