Common Q&A

» Interior Home Design and Build Questions

Q. What services does ABD offer?
A.
ABD offers full services in the Design/Build field. This includes construction drawings, space planning, window treatments, furniture, artwork & accessories; both interior and exterior painting, remodels from kitchens to bathrooms and everything in between, exterior additions, basement finishes, home repair as well as designing and building custom homes.

Q. Do I need to have plans from an architect?
A.
Very few building departments require architecturally stamped plans; however, many do require engineering stamps on major structural projects. ABD employs a certified building designer who can take your ideas and develop them into a working set of plans for our construction team. If your project requires engineering, ABD contracts with licensed engineers.

Q. How do I know what my selection options are?
A.
From our own showroom, our certified ASID designers will guide you through the process of selecting everything from carpet to cabinets to paint as well as window coverings, furniture and accessories if needed.

Q. What is ABD's style?
A.
"Yours!" As professional designers, our goal is to create a space that is truly yours. It should include surroundings that reflect your interests! Take a look through our gallery and you won't notice a recurring theme, but instead a unique style on every project.

Q. Can you make accommodations to our project for special needs?
A.
We are the first professional design/build team in Colorado to become Certified Aging in Place Specialists (CAPS), a certification sponsored by AARP and the National Association of Home Builders, and a recognized certified education by ASID.

Q. How long has ABD been in business?
A.
ABD has been serving northern Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming's design/build needs since 1990.

Q. Is ABD licensed and insured?
A.
Yes, we hold Residential & Commercial Contractor Licenses for Fort Collins, Longmont, Loveland and Larimer County. ABD carries both general liability and workman's comp insurance polices. This provides our clients peace of mind knowing they are protected from unnecessary risk and lawsuits by outside individuals and companies. In addition, ABD only partners with licensed and insured vendors and subcontractors.
